This experiential taster morning offers an introduction to what counselling involves.Counselling is not primarily about giving advice or solving problems, but about developing understanding through listening, curiosity and self-awareness within a supportive relationship.
During the morning, participants will take part in simple experiential exercises designed to offer a sense of how counselling works in practice.
We will explore:
• what it feels like to be listened to attentively
• how curiosity supports understanding
• how counselling focuses on being seen and heard
• the role of self-awareness in therapeutic work
The session is suitable for anyone:
• considering training as a counsellor
• interested in developing listening skills
• curious about counselling
• interested in personal development
No previous experience is required.
The morning is designed to be supportive, accessible and gently paced.
This taster session also offers a pathway into an 8-week Introduction to Counselling course beginning in September for those who wish to continue exploring these skills.
Group size is kept small to support learning through experience.
