About the Course
The Introduction to Collage 3 week course is ideal if you are curious but not sure where to start. Across three relaxed and creative sessions, you’ll explore different approaches to collage; learning how to use form, pattern, shape, colour and typography to create appealing layered images.
Course Structure
Week 1 – Photo Rearrangement
Get creative using just one magazine. Collage doesn’t have to mean lots of different papers — you can create striking artwork from a single resource.
Week 2 – Colour
Explore colour as a powerful design element in your collage work.
Week 3 – Typography as Pattern
Experiment with text as a visual element.
What to Bring
All papers, boards, glues and scissors are provided, along with tea and coffee.
You may wish to bring:
- A small sketchbook (optional)
- A folder to take your artwork home
- Your own favourite scissors
Suitable for complete beginners — no previous experience needed, just an interest in exploring the creative options of collaging.
