About this Event

Creative Wellbeing Workshop: Introducing Therapeutic Arts in Nature

Friday 17th July 2026 10:30 - 13:00

About the event

Therapeutic Arts offer a dynamic approach, working with a range of art forms. These encourage expression of our inner world without depending on words. They can enable a shift in focus and ways forward. Being creative is healing in itself and here we explore, with curiosity, how to use the arts more deeply.

This experiential workshop is the first of three, and will introduce this approach working in and with Nature, in a private outdoor woodland space. Our 'art materials' will be the leaves, sticks, stones, petals, feathers, soil, grass and more than we find in the woods.

The other 2 workshops will be:

Friday 25th September 1.30 - 4pm Didsbury Parsonage M20 2RQ: paint and pastels

Friday 13th November 1.30 - 4pm Didsbury Parsonage M20 2RQ: clay and collage

These are introductory workshops rather than formal Art Therapy group sessions. No artistic or therapy experience necessary, just a willingness to be curious, have a go and explore.

The workshops are facilitated by Steffie's Arts Space. Steffie is a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner, outdoor therapist and experienced workshop facilitator.

Here's some feedback from a previous participant: ‘Safe reflective space, eye opening, heart-warming’.

Is this workshop for me?

If you are interested in personal development, and are curious about how the arts can be used to explore ourselves creatively, you will hopefully find these workshops enjoyable and meaningful. All those age 16 + welcome.

What You will need

All materials and refreshments will be provided.

Venue

For the first workshp we are very fortunate to be able to use the site of Heartwood UK CIC. The 1.7 acres of woods in south Manchester is private, with wonderful woodland to explore, 2 sitting circles (one with a fire area), an indoor space incase of bad weather and compost toilets. It is used for outdoor education, forest school and training in both. It is very accessible by public transport and there is parking nearby. More details of exact location and travel will be sent to participants.

Price

£30 per person (+ Eventbrite fee).

Discount for booking onto all 3 workshops: £70 (+ Eventbrite fee)

2 concessionary places available at £18 (+ Eventbrite fee)

Refund and cancellation policy

Full refund minus Eventbrite fee available up to one week before the workshop starts.
