About this Event

Intro to Welding: A Hands-On Experience 🔥⚙️

Build practical skills and learn the fundamentals of welding in this hands-on introductory class at the C2 Fab fabrication and sculpture shop. This experience is designed to give you real time exposure to MIG welding, essential shop safety, and basic fabrication techniques in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Whether you are brand new to welding or looking to refresh your skills, this class offers a solid foundation and the confidence to take the next step. You will work directly with tools and materials, gaining a better understanding of how metal fabrication comes together from start to finish.

No prior welding experience is required. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Required Clothing: 🧤🥾

Closed-toe shoes with canvas or leather tops (no gym shoes).
Long denim or 100 percent cotton pants (no yoga or stretchy pants).
A cotton or wool-based long-sleeve shirt (no synthetic materials).
For cold weather, a hoodie or other cotton or denim jacket is highly recommended, as ventilation fans can make the shop chilly.

⚠️ Please avoid wearing synthetic, nylon, or polyester-based clothing (for example yoga pants or mesh-topped gym shoes), as they are flammable.

⚠️If you use glasses or bifocals for seeing up close, we recommend bringing a cheap pair of reading glasses (dollar-store readers work great) to wear under your welding helmet.
