Rosemaling is a beloved Scandinavian folk art often seen across the Midwest at museums, heritage festivals, and at least one pot-holder or fridge magnet in your grandma’s or a friend’s great aunt’s house.Known for its flowing scrollwork, ornate curves, and floral designs, Rosemaling is the art of decorative painting originating in rural Norway around the 1700s. Join local artist Molly McLain in this introductory class.
Molly will guide participants through basic strokes of beginning rosemaling in the Telemark regional style. Participants will come away with practice sheets and their own small painted Rosemal piece.
