Class Flow (Adjustable)
🕑: 02:00 PM - 02:10 PM
Warmup
Info: Let’s get the blood flowing and open up your muscles! Here we incorporate stretches and exercises to target your entire body. Think arm circles for your shoulders, squats and lunges to open your legs, hamstring stretches, crunches, and straddles.
🕑: 02:10 PM - 02:25 PM
Floorwork & basework skills
Info: Dancing on the floor and around the lower part of the pole is helpful for performance. We may explore beginner friendly sequences on the floor (such as fan kick or slide outs). Then, we learn different options to come up from the ground (such as basic get up or a spin to stand). This is dependent on your level and strength.
🕑: 02:25 PM - 02:50 PM
Standing movement around the pole
Info: During this time, we focus on different movements such as walking around the pole, pirouette, and various spins (including dip turn, fireman, back hook, front hook, to name a few). Students practice these skills throughout this time frame, learning proper shoulders engagement, use their core, and other muscle groups. They can either drill these skills in isolation or learn how to slowly combine with previously learned skills (i.e floorwork to walks, walking to a dip turn, fireman to a pirouette, etc.).
🕑: 02:50 PM - 02:55 PM
Practice/freestyle run
Info: Students have the time to practice all skills learned on their own and can record during this time. Students can focus on dancing out one skill or combining multiple. Everyone is encouraged to record on their phones to help them in their future practice, but it is not required.
🕑: 02:55 PM - 03:00 PM
Cooldown & wrap up
Info: Students stretch arms, legs, and focus on deep breathing to settle down after class. Poles are wiped down and class concludes.
