Intro to Cross Country Skiing

Embrace the beauty of winter with Women of Colour Remake Wellness! Join us for a beginner-friendly morning at the.

Whether you are stepping onto skis for the very first time or you’re a beginner looking to build more confidence, this event is for you. We provide the gear and the "know-how"—you just bring the energy!

What to Expect

Our friendly instructor will walk us through everything step-by-step:

• Gear 101: How to put on and adjust your skis and poles.
• The "Ooze": How to get back up safely if you fall.
• Gliding: Learning to move with and without poles.
• Adventure: A guided practice on the trails (including small hills for the brave!).

All cross-country ski equipment is provided by the Kanata Nordic Ski Club. Equipment is fitted based on body type for safety, comfort, and proper glide.

The registration form will require you to provide the information below.
Please ensure all details are complete and accurate at the time of registration.

We will NOT be following up to obtain missing or incorrect information, and no extra gear will be available on-site.

Accurate information is essential to ensure proper equipment fitting and a smooth event experience.

Family Friendly

This is a family-focused event! We encourage you to bring the kids and enjoy the trails together.

Quick Tips for the Day

• Dress in layers: You’ll warm up quickly once you start moving!
• Wear wool socks: Avoid cotton to keep your feet dry and warm.
• Bring water: Skiing is a great workout

In order to participate, all partcipants are required to say Women of Colour Remake Wellness (WoCRW) Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement - 2026 - failure to sign it will result in not participating in the activity.

Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes early to allow time for:

• Check-in
• Trying on and fitting your equipment
• Buffer time in case you get lost, so you still arrive on time

Arriving early helps ensure the session starts promptly.

All ticket sales are final.
There are no refunds or exchanges, unless the event is cancelled.
