Embrace the beauty of winter with Women of Colour Remake Wellness! Join us for a beginner-friendly morning at the.
Whether you are stepping onto skis for the very first time or you’re a beginner looking to build more confidence, this event is for you. We provide the gear and the "know-how"—you just bring the energy!
What to Expect
Our friendly instructor will walk us through everything step-by-step:
- Gear 101: How to put on and adjust your skis and poles.
- The "Ooze": How to get back up safely if you fall.
- Gliding: Learning to move with and without poles.
- Adventure: A guided practice on the trails (including small hills for the brave!).
After our time on the snow, we’ll head into the warm chalet to wrap up with light snacks, refreshments, and great conversation.
Equipment & Sizing (Action Required!)
All cross-country ski gear is provided by the Kanata Nordic Ski Club. Because equipment is fitted based on body type for safety and glide, we need your details as soon as possible after registration.
Please ensure you provide your:
- Height
- Weight
- Shoe Size
Family Friendly
This is a family-focused event! We encourage you to bring the kids and enjoy the trails together.
Quick Tips for the Day
- Dress in layers: You’ll warm up quickly once you start moving!
- Wear wool socks: Avoid cotton to keep your feet dry and warm.
- Bring water: Skiing is a great workout
In order to participate, all partcipants are required to say Women of Colour Remake Wellness (WoCRW) Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement - 2026 - failure to sign it will result in not participating in the activity.
