Our brand-new Intro to Olympic Weightlifting Workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as those who want to sharpen the basics. This session will help you feel confident, safe, and excited to get started with the snatch and clean & jerk, the two cornerstone lifts that build strength, speed, and coordination.
Leading the workshop is Angela Wyss, Shapesmiths coach, British Weightlifting Coach, and Swiss National Team athlete. What makes Angela such a brilliant coach is that she started out just like many of you - with zero experience. Through years of hard work and belief in the process, she’s gone from complete novice to competing internationally. Angela knows first-hand how daunting lifting can feel at the beginning, and she’s passionate about making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
What to expect:
- Learn the fundamentals of the snatch and clean & jerk in a clear, step-by-step way
- Build confidence moving a barbell safely and effectively
- Get personalised coaching and feedback in a friendly, supportive environment
- Break through the mental barrier of “I need to be ready before I start”
By the end of this workshop, you’ll walk away with the skills and confidence to join our regular Olympic Weightlifting classes and continue your lifting journey.
