Our Working Women of the East End tour will tell the stories & locations showcasing the often forgotten voices of working women in history
About this Event

Our Working Women of the East End tour will include the stories and locations important to Britain’s First Feminist; Mary Wollstonecraft, the East London Suffragette, Sylvia Pankhurst, Eleanor Marx, the Match strike of 1888. We will also discuss much more about what life was like for Women throughout the East Ends history.

The walking tour starts at Tower Hill Station, Exit via the Ticket Hall, your tour guide will be waiting for you next to the red Tram Refreshment cart.

The East End has been an important area throughout London’s rich history. A place of refuge, change, idealism but also crime and poverty, its full of stories that draw in locals and tourists alike.

In the streets, you can experience and learn about the people that call this area home, alternative culture, dynamic street art and much more.

For decades people have visited the East End on walking tours that focus on crime, poverty and Jack the Ripper.

This walking tour aims to change the way the East End is seen, both by highlighting the Women involved in the areas vibrant history but also giving women, like those killed by Jack the Ripper a voice, by telling you their story.
