About this Event
Over World Vegan Day Weekend we will be at OISE Auditorium screening 38 films, including six feature films, in seven distinct sessions!
For seven years, the International Vegan Film Festival has been a four-hour evening of watching short films in a theater. This year’s unprecedented number of submissions (56, over 45 hours of runtime!) is an encouraging sign for the movement, and demands that the format of the festival be expanded.
Saturday is World Vegan Day, and we will be celebrating it with three programs emphasizing 80 years of animal-free lifestyles, plant-based health, and environmental protection. To accommodate the discerning needs and desires of moviegoers, films with aggressive themes and scenes of graphic violence have been sorted into Sunday’s Animal Advocacy Program. Each day features a movie at 10 am, 3pm, and 7 pm. including our yet-to-be-announced winner of the Vegan-Themed Feature Film category on Sunday!
Oh, and LOTS of AMAZING vegan food will be available for sale!
If you’re ready for everything World Vegan Day Weekend has to offer, consider the savings that we’ve incorporated into our Weekend Pass. If you live in the Toronto area, the IVFF Annual Membership keeps the moviegoing experience all year long — we are committed to at least one IVFF screening event every month until next year’s festival!

The International Vegan Film Festival aims to be a global platform that celebrates creativity, compassion, and the growing movement toward a kinder, more sustainable world.
We want to inspire audiences through the power of art and storytelling, highlight the beauty and benefits of a vegan lifestyle, and support creators who use their work to spark positive change.

Agenda
🕑: 10:00 AM - 02:00 PM
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1: World Vegan Day Film Launch
Info: November 1 is World Vegan Day, and the IVFF is celebrating over 80 years since the word "vegan" was coined to describe the distinct splinter faction of The Vegetarian Society and their newsletter.
The films in this program maintain a sensitivity to viewers who might otherwise be cautious about vegan films that depict the violent realities of our food and fashion industries -- safe for the tenderest of hearts, but come prepared to feel deeply for the human and non-human animals on the screen!
🕑: 03:00 PM - 06:00 PM
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1: Coffee Wars Screening
Info: Coffee Wars, starring UK pop sensation Kate Nash (NETFLIX's Glow), Sairose-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls, The Flash), stage actor Freddie Fox (The Three Musketeers), and Toby Sebastian (Game of Thrones -- if you think those lips look familiar, he's Florence Pugh's brother!). The narrator is not Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption) so stop asking.
Coffee aficionado Jo (Nash) is doing her best to keep her coffee shop afloat alongside a band of unpredictable colleagues. At night she slips into the caffeinated underworld to aggressively compete with latte foam art against the who's who of London's café scene. Nothing seems to be going her way until she gets the chance to prove herself at the World Barista Championship.
🕑: 07:00 PM - 10:00 PM
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1: Short Film Screening & Awards
Info: This is the IVFF that we have known for eight years -- the compilation of the year's best vegan-themed short films. A gentle but deeply emotional examination of animals, people, lifestyles, and advocacy for a more compassionate and healthy world for all.
🕑: 10:00 AM - 01:00 PM
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 2: Animal Advocacy Screening
Info: The relationship between human and non-human animals often seems a monolithic legacy of unequal benefit, yet a paradigm that is about to shift. People are seeing animals, bearing witness to our intolerable systems, and understanding speciesism in ways that are simultaneously as new as veganism and as old as our earliest writings about our fellow Earthlings.
🕑: 03:00 PM - 06:00 PM
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 2: Best Vegan Themed Feature Film Screening
Info: 2025 was a breakout year for feature-length films -- 23 of them across six categories. But there can be only one winner of the Vegan-Themed Feature Film category...and it will be screened at 3pm on Sunday, November 2.
🕑: 07:00 PM - 10:00 PM
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 2: Movie Screening & Closing Ceremony
Info: After two days of deliberation, pitching, and solutioneering the systemic injustices that must be resolved to achieve a compassionate and safe living space for humanity, the participants of the 23rd Vegan Convergence of the People will be joining this special screening of projects that celebrate Climate Healers and their partners, including Plant Based Treaty and the Animal Save Movement. This will be an opportunity for Toronto to embrace our visitors whether they further the movement through films or vibrant volunterism.
