The International Poetry Forum is pleased to host a reading by Rita Dove, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry (Thomas and Beulah, Carnegie Mellon University Press, 1986) and former Poet Laureate of the United States. One of the most celebrated poets in the country, Dove is the recipient of 29 honorary degrees and many other awards. The poet's full bio is available here.

About Us
Founded in 1966, the Pittsburgh-based International Poetry Forum is a nonprofit organization that has hosted readings and educational programs by more than 800 poets and performers from 50+ countries. Alumni of our reading series include legends like Seamus Heaney, Gwendolyn Brooks, Mary Oliver, Chinua Achebe, Kurt Vonnegut, Grace Kelly, Gregory Peck, James Earl Jones, and Queen Noor of Jordan.
