1.45pm – Thomas Kelly, Young Artists Lunchtime Recital
We are delighted to welcome Thomas Kelly to perform two recitals in the Young Artist series. In September he will be one of just 24 pianists who have been selected for the final stages of the Leeds International Piano Competition.

7pm – Margaret Fingerhut Recital

Described by Gramophone magazine as a pianist of ‘consummate skill and thrilling conviction’, Margaret Fingerhut has a distinguished career which has taken her all over the world.
She is particularly known for her innovative recital programmes in which she explores the highways and byways of the piano repertoire. As a concerto soloist she has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the London Mozart Players, in major venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican. She is often heard on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and many radio stations worldwide.

In the years since his unprecedented success as Silver Medal winner of the 1982 7th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Peter Donohoe has built an extraordinary world-wide career, encompassing a huge repertoire and over forty years’ experience as a pianist, as well as continually exploring many other avenues in music-making. He is acclaimed as one of the foremost pianists of our time, for his musicianship, stylistic versatility and commanding technique. A former pupil of Chetham’s school of music, Peter has become a much loved regular on the faculty of the summer school.
