Cost: $100 Early Bird, $150 after Jan. 24th
A three-day intensive (6pm-10pm) with a LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) instructor, designed to demystify the audition process and help actors walk into the room prepared, confident, and adaptable. Actors will leave with footage of themselves doing a piece they can use to get work.
This workshop series focuses on both practical technique and professional realities of auditioning, culminating in a hands-on exploration of the differences between theatre and film auditions.
Monday, February 2 — Career Logistics & Preparation
This session covers the structural side of auditioning, including:
Talent visas and working as an international artist
Understanding the broader audition landscape
How to build and organize strong audition material
Participants are encouraged to bring monologues or scenes, but the instructor will also help actors find, select, and shape monologues and audition scenes that suit them.
Wednesday, February 4 — Audition Materials & Technique
A practical session focused on core audition skills:
Physicalization of Character
Choosing and refining audition pieces
Clear, confident storytelling under audition conditions
Actors will practice auditioning and receive guided feedback in a supportive setting.
Friday, February 6 — Theatre vs. Film Auditioning
This session highlights how technique shifts between mediums by:
Performing the same piece as a theatre audition
Reworking that piece for a film audition
Exploring differences in scale, energy, framing, and intention
Actors will leave with a clearer understanding of how to adjust their work depending on the audition context.
