Heartfulness UK invites you to a special Curtain Raiser event for the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 – Curtain Raiser, an opportunity to be part of a powerful community experience centred on the theme, “Inner Harmony, Global Peace", which reflects the timeless relevance of yoga as a path to balance, health and inner calm. More than an individual practice, yoga is a universal tradition that inspires connection, compassion and peace in the world around us.
This special gathering at Church House in Westminster will bring together people from all walks of life to explore how Yoga and Meditation can enhance not only individual wellbeing, but also the collective spirit of our communities. This event is one of the UK’s largest International Day of Yoga event, welcoming over 500 participants. It promises to be a truly significant occasion—uniting friends from all communities, faiths, and backgrounds in a shared celebration of wellbeing, harmony and togetherness.
Led by Heartfulness UK, this event offers a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern relevance—open to everyone, regardless of experience.
Please note that this will be a fully seated event. Attendees will enjoy a brief taster of Chair Yoga; no physical yoga participation or floor-based practice will be involved during the event. The experience has been designed to be accessible, inclusive and welcoming for everyone irrespective of experience.

This thoughtfully curated 120-minute programme will include:

- 📚 The launch of The Authentic Yoga & by Daaji
Beyond the main programme, you will have the opportunity to explore an interactive exhibition on the evolution of yoga, to connect with like-minded individuals and to learn more about the wider International Day of Yoga celebrations taking place across London.

Heartfulness UK
Heartfulness UK is a UK registered charity and non-profit organisation providing training in Heartfulness meditation across London and many parts of the UK, as well as universities, public and private organisations and in the community. Heartfulness UK is part of a network of non-profit organisations of Heartfulness, with presence in over 160 countries throughout the world.
There are no fees for learning or practising Heartfulness. We are run entirely by volunteers and funded purely by voluntary donations.
