ABOUT THE EVENT
Registration will open soon for the ’ (CALS) inaugural International Aquaculture Law & Policy Symposium. This one-day, in-person event is being held in collaboration with co-hosts the and the .
The Symposium brings together experts, scholars, and practitioners to discuss key issues and emerging trends in the rapidly evolving field of industrial animal aquaculture law and policy. Attendees can expect a series of panels addressing timely and critical topics, such as: the impact of industrial aquaculture on animals, the environment, and public health; the global state of animal aquaculture and relevant laws; emerging issues; advocacy strategies; and more. The day will end with a call to action to support a collaborative and strategic approach to challenging global industrial aquaculture. Check back for the full schedule, speakers, and more.
This Symposium coincides with (but is separate from) the Multispecies Collective PhD Workshop (June 2) and UK Animal Law Conference (June 3-4), also being held at the University of Birmingham. This offers a unique opportunity to connect with the broader animal law community.
TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATIONS
Hotel accommodation is available at Edgbaston Park Hotel, which is located on the University of Birmingham campus. Promotional room rates are available to those who book early.
Alternatively, Visit Birmingham can provide accommodation options across the city of Birmingham. Trains from Birmingham New Street station in the city center run regularly to the University train station and take around 7 minutes. Taxis from the city center to the campus take around 15-20 minutes, dependent on traffic.
