DBJ EVENT: Spend an exciting afternoon learning about the award-winning book, The Sillybillies Find Stipes and Spots. Seek paintings featuring unique animals while exploring how we are more alike than different and participate in the 114th Girl Scout Birthday!
Event Highlights:
*Each girl will receive a copy of the award-winning book, The Sillybillies Find Stripes and Spots, a personal journal, a patch, and refreshments.
*Hear the story and learn about award-winning artist and author Julie Dawson.
*All girls will visit art pieces (selected by DIA Educational Staff) that present different perspectives on animals through different religious and ethnic traditions.
*The journal will allow the girls to reflect by writing or drawing.
*Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas.
*Celebrate the Girl Scouts' 114th Birthday.
*Adult Program Tour Groups will be available or individuals my explore the DIA on their own.
*Older Girl Scout and Adult Volunteers are requested to lead small groups around the DIA. Volunteers may attend at no charge. Please email [email protected] volunteer.
*Girl Scout Event Insurance is included.
*.Bus Transportation from a location in Wayne, Macomb, and Northern Oakland Counties will be available.

CSA EVENT:
Heighten your awareness at this interactive program specifically designed for older Girl Scouts, where your MISSION is to locate the selected pieces of art in the museum, to accept a CHALLENGE option that will help you discover and learn more about each artwork, then allow you time to REFLECT upon the piece. Journals are provided for each scout to use and take home!
This event honors Women's History Month, heightens religious and cultural awareness, and celebrates the 114th birthday of the Girl Scouts, reflecting the GSSEM Religious Relationships Committee's goal of promoting understanding and awareness.
Adult Volunteers are requested to lead small groups around the DIA. Volunteers may attend at no charge. Please email [email protected] to volunteer. An advanced orientation/training session will be required prior to being assigned a tour group. Volunteers will be assigned to groups at random.
Bus Transportation from a location in Wayne, Macomb, and Northern Oakland Counties will be provided to troops who request this it. A leader is needed to oversee each bus, and the volunteers (three) may attend at no charge. Please email [email protected] to volunteer.
