25th Annual Inter-University Workshop
The Human Factors Interest Group (HFIG), the University of Toronto's Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) student chapter, is excited to be hosting the 25th annual Human Factors Engineering Inter University Workshop (IUW) this October. We are especially thrilled to announce that plans are underway for an in- person event, and we are taking steps to ensure that IUW is hosted safely in service of fostering connection, information sharing, and research visibility within our community.
What is IUW?
IUW is an-person event focused on fostering community, research, and networking. IUW is hosted annually by rotating universities across University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and University at Buffalo. This year it will be hosted by University of Toronto.
Who is it for?
For Master’s, PhD, and undergraduate students.
When is it?
IUW is a one-day Human Factors research conference that will be hosted on Satuday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00-4:00pm.

Do I have to present to attend?
No, IUW is open to students from across the three campuses who are interested in human factors and ergonomics research. If you would like to come out and learn more about the field or current research all are welcomed. Make sure to register early as space is limited.
