Since forming in 2008, Philadelphia's Backslider has defied the conventions of their extreme hardcore punk roots, often striking a balance between intense maniacal precision, dark melodicism, and total chaotic excess. With influences ranging from obscure 70s prog to the West Coast's infamous "powerviolence" scene and everything in between, the band is constantly writhing and mutating their style into a musical bloodbath all their own. This relentless pursuit of their own unorthodox creative vision allows them to forge ahead, untethered to the codified genre rules that so many others intently adhere to.
