Bio:
Katarina Kelly is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and actor. Born and raised in California and now based in New York, Kelly’s strengths lie in the fusing of her seemingly dissimilar worlds. She cut her teeth as a theater performer with a strong emphasis on honing her craft as a vocalist. These days, she writes songs inspired by Fiona Apple and Ben Folds alone at her piano. But where does she feel the most at home? She’s not quite sure yet. It’s this uncertainty, paired with unflinching introspection, that makes her such a compelling and relatable voice. Her first single, “Left Handed Lover”, out May 30th, is an airy and sometimes dizzying meditation on the things that tether us to ourselves, and how tenuous these bonds really are. Kelly is armed with a natural storytelling ability paired with an undeniable voice, supported by the bright acoustic guitar and shimmering keys of Elliott Woodbridge’s production. She cuts the fear with sweetness: “God will never write another woman like you.” New music coming later this year.
