Bio:
Ecuadorian-born, Brooklyn-raised JRNXLST (Christian A. Guerrero) returns with “HALO,” a daring, hook-forward single that confronts toxic relationship dynamics while staring down bigger questions: guilt, codependency, and what we owe each other when the world is on fire.
A former frontman of Bedlight for Blue Eyes (Trustkill Records / Universal Records), Guerrero has spent years on the road sharing stages with scene-defining artists including Paramore, Senses Fail, New Found Glory, A Static Lullaby, and Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Now, under the JRNXLST banner, he’s chosen a sharper mission: music that is honest, visceral, and uncomfortably human.
“HALO” begins as an infectious indie rock and indie pop gut-punch, danceable, melodic, and razor-wired with tension, then pivots into something darker and more expansive. In the second half, Guerrero switches fully into Spanish, drawing from his roots as an immigrant from Ecuador and his life in Brooklyn. The track transforms into a haunting techno-leaning climax inspired by a photograph he saw of a malnourished child being cared for amid the crisis in Gaza, a moment that pushed the song beyond confession and into confrontation.
Sonically, “HALO” fuses indie-rock swagger, metal-edged guitar hooks, electronic textures, and soaring vocals that aren’t afraid to bleed. It’s built for listeners who want melody and meaning, an anthem that asks the uncomfortable question at the center of the song: Do you think you’re wearing a halo?
For JRNXLST, the song is inseparable from the community around it. He has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase across social platforms and an active Discord where he shows up daily, and he tags his communications with a signature that doubles as the project’s mission statement: You don’t have to be blood to be family.
