In this engaging jewellery making workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own beautiful butterfly or dragonfly from start to finish. You will incorporate striking textured elements to make your piece uniquely yours.
Under expert guidance you’ll discover traditional metalworking techniques whilst crafting a silver dragonfly or butterfly you’ll be proud to wear or gift.
This session is best suited to those who have some knowledge of soldering for example the stacking rings workshop.
The relaxed, supportive environment allows you to explore learning at a comfortable pace, with expert demonstration and assistance at every step.
During this hands on session, you’ll master essential silversmithing skills including:
* Disk cutting to for wing shapes
* Forging or rolling to create texture and form to sheet metal
* Filing to create the body shape
* Safe and effective soldering methods
* Finishing and polishing
You’ll leave the session with your own handcrafted butterfly or dragonfly. You’ll also have foundational knowledge to continue exploring jewellery making. This rewarding experience opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities, giving you valuable insights into the art of working with precious metals.
Materials: Silver is in addition to the course fee and will be worked out by weight. Prices change daily and can range from £15-£50 depending on the piece you choose to make.
Level: Beginners welcome but some experience of soldering recommended
