About this Event
In the workshop you will create your own textile memory square themed around what makes you feel at home. Your square will be added to an exciting 3D artwork inspired by the tradition of the balikbayan box — a symbol of care, connection, and the journeys we make between homes.
You don’t need to be an artist — just come with your experiences, stories, or simply the desire to connect. This workshop is a fun, relaxed space to create together, reflect on our journeys, and contribute to a collective artwork that celebrates the lives and voices of nursing staff. It is particularly aimed at nursing and healthcare staff with experience of migration.
Snacks and all materials provided.
About the Artist
Haleema Aziz is a Manchester-born artist and former NHS worker whose practice explores themes of migration, displacement, and belonging. Drawing on personal and collective experiences, her work often bridges the emotional landscapes between places we leave and the places we call home.
