Soul Sanctuary Sunderland presents: The Inner Sanctuary Sessions
If life has you feeling stressed out, burnt out, or overwhelmed, join us for a gentle, nurturing space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Or, if you are someone who already walks a spiritual path, this space offers quiet time to deepen your meditation practice and nurture your spiritual connection.
This is your time to find your inner sanctuary to fully decompress from whatever life is throwing at you, set your intentions, and prepare for the week ahead with calm and clarity.
Use the time however feels right for you. You might choose to read, colour, meditate, rest, draw, write or pop your earphones in and listen to an audiobook. There is no pressure, no expectation, and no judgement. You do not even need to speak to anyone if you don’t feel like it. This is YOUR time.
Bring along your favorite book, your journal or just bring yourself. If you forget to bring something… a small selection of reading books journal prompts and adult colouring books with pens and pencils will be available for you to use.
Trying to take time out at home often does not work, the to-do list is still there, distractions creep in, and true rest feels impossible. This dedicated, peaceful space allows you to genuinely let go, breathe, and nurture yourself. Regular visits can help release stress, restore energy, support mental and emotional wellbeing, and leave you feeling calmer, lighter, and more centred.
The space is thoughtfully prepared for your comfort and relaxation: you will have a yoga mat, blanket, cushion, bolster, and floor cushion provided for you, creating a cosy and comfortable environment to relax in.
The space is open between 9am and 11:00am. You are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you like.
Your first session is completely free, and subsequent sessions are just £8.50 each. Spaces are limited to ensure a peaceful environment.

Who this is for:
These Inner Sanctuary Sessions are for you if you are feeling tired, overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply in need of a gentle pause at the start of your week, and a chance to decompress and return to your centre.
They are perfect for anyone who:
- Feels stressed, anxious, or mentally overloaded
- Struggles to truly switch off at home
- Craves quiet time without expectations or pressure
- Wants a calm, supportive space to rest and reset
- Is navigating a busy life and needs space just to be
- Values slow, nurturing self-care rather than doing more
- Seeks quiet time for meditation, contemplation, or spiritual connection
You do not need any experience with meditation, mindfulness, or relaxation practices. You do not need to be spiritual, creative, or “good” at resting. There is nothing to achieve and nothing to get right.
All you need is a willingness to give yourself permission to slow down.
This space welcomes all adults who are seeking calm, ease, and a moment of peace.
Come exactly as you are.
What to expect:
As you arrive, you will be welcomed into the space and invited to make your way into our beautiful moon room. Choose a spot wherever you feel most comfortable, settle in, and make yourself at home.
The room is warm, calm, and softly lit, with peaceful meditation music playing quietly in the background. Everything is set up to help you feel safe, supported, and at ease from the moment you arrive.
This is completely unstructured time. You decide how you wish to spend YOUR session. There is no right or wrong way to be here.
You may choose to:
- Sit or lie down in quiet meditation
- Rest or simply be still
- Read a book
- Journal or write
- Draw or colour
- Listen to an audiobook or music through your headphones
- Or anything else you’d like to do, as long as it is a quiet activity that respects others in the space
The space is open between 9am and 11:00am. As long as you are booked in, you are welcome to arrive and leave at any point within that time. Stay for a short pause or linger for the full session, whatever feels right for you that day.
This is a quiet, respectful space where everyone is focused on their own being and self-care. You are not expected to interact, participate, or share. Just come as you are, and allow yourself the permission to rest... slow down, and come back to yourself.
What to bring:
A yoga mat, cushion, bolster, cosy blanket, and eye pillow will all be provided for your comfort.
You may also wish to bring:
- A sealed water bottle to stay hydrated
- Warm, comfortable layers to help you relax
- Your own mat, blanket, or cushion if you would like extra comfort
- Optional items for quiet reflection, journaling, drawing, colouring, or reading
You are welcome to simply bring yourself and let the space support the rest.
Important Information:
- This session is for adults ages 18 and over, to ensure a calm, peaceful, and respectful environment.
- As spaces are limited, refunds are not available. However, if more than 72 hours notice is given, you can transfer your ticket to a future session. If less than 72 hours notice is given, you are welcome to gift or transfer your ticket to a friend if you are unable to attend. Please contact me directly if you need to rearrange.
- Open to all experience levels - no prior meditation or mindfulness experience is needed.
Energy Exchange £8.50 + Eventbrite booking fee.
