About this Event
From the roots of Afro Cuban music to Clavé infused Jazz this Vancouver based group led by percussionist extraordinaire Jack Duncan, illuminates and illustrates the historical and evolving intersection of Jazz and traditional Afro-Latin music. Major influences for this group are Afro- Cuban Jazz pioneers Tata Guines, Irakere, Machito, Mario Bauza, Mongo Santamaria and the many others that have created their own voice to make this exciting genre of music what it is today. Featuring musicians that have been involved in Grammy and Juno Award winning projects Conga Cartel not only thrills audiences with their great music but also gets them up on their feet while
doing so.
This performance is part of Social Music, a monthly concert series at Hero's Welcome presented by Infidels Jazz.
