Framingham Public Schools are closed for a Professional Development Day —but Kalexedy is open for a day of hands-on engineering, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.In this special one-day workshop for 8-14 year olds, students will work in small groups to build a full-size, rideable Infento vehicle, using real tools and modular components designed to help kids think like engineers. Together, they’ll explore concepts like balance, stability, steering, load-bearing, and structural design through direct, practical experience.
This workshop is part of Kalexedy’s trial series as we explore new engineering offerings for future camps and enrichment programs. Because this is a pilot session, families should expect a relaxed, exploratory environment. Students may encounter challenges, unexpected surprises, and moments where things don’t go perfectly on the first try—exactly the kind of authentic learning we value. Staff will guide students through the process with patience, encouragement, and a focus on safety and teamwork.

Students will:
-Build a working Infento vehicle in small teams
-Use tools safely and confidently
-Learn how mechanical systems fit together
-Test, adjust, and improve their build during supervised ride-time
-Practice collaboration, communication, and persistence
