About this Event
Overview: A Space to Breathe and Create
In the rush of daily life, it’s easy for our internal world to get crowded. This Art Therapy session offers a dedicated pause—a quiet, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings through the simple act of making.
This isn't an art class. There is no "right" way to do it, and you don't need to be "good at art" to attend. We use creative materials as a second language to express things that words sometimes can't quite capture. Whether you are navigating stress, seeking clarity, or simply want to reconnect with yourself, you are welcome here.
What Can You Expect?
If you’ve never attended an art therapy session before, it can feel a little mysterious. Here is exactly how we spend our time together:
- A Gentle Beginning: We start with a brief grounding exercise or mindfulness prompt to help you leave the "outside world" at the door and settle into the room.
- The Creative Invitation: You’ll be introduced to a range of materials—from soft pastels and fluid paints to clay or collage. I will provide a gentle theme or "starting point," but you are always free to follow your own intuition.
- The Making Phase: A period of quiet, focused creation. During this time, I am there to support you, hold the space, and help if you feel "stuck" with a material.
- Reflective Sharing (Optional): Towards the end, there is an opportunity to look at what you’ve created. You can share your reflections with the group, or simply sit with your work in silence. You only ever share what you feel comfortable with.
- A Supportive Environment: The session is facilitated by a qualified practitioner, ensuring that the space remains emotionally safe and confidential for everyone involved.
Who Is This For?
- Anyone feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or "stuck."
- Individuals looking for a mindful, therapeutic alternative to traditional talk therapy.
- Those who want to explore their creativity in a space free from "critique" or "technique."
- No artistic experience is required. We focus on the process of making, not the final product.
Good to Know
- Materials: All professional-grade art supplies are provided.
- What to Wear: Wear something you feel comfortable in (and don't mind getting a little paint on!).
- Privacy: Everything shared within the session—both words and artwork—is treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality.
All principles are based on principles of art therapy, hypnotherapy, neurolinguistics, and psychology. These sessions are artist-therapist-led.
It is NOT a therapy session. It is a tool supporting your mental well-being. For any serious issues, please always consult with your therapist.
