We welcome in Indigo Sessions - a captivating fusion of soulful melodies and poetic expressions - for a three month summer residency at Dorothy! July features artists Aliyah Jones, Iyana Brown-Bey & Meghan B. Malachi- coming together in creativity through music, poetry and collective expression.
Doors open at 6pm and the artists go on at 7pm. Dorothy will reopen to the public at 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Avenue. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the double doors on Campbell Avenue and call 773-770-3799 and our staff will be up to assist you.
Please note: refund requests are only accepted until 24 hours before the event (7/6, 7pm). No other refund requests will be honored.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Aliyah Jones is a vocalist, composer, and writer based in Chicago, IL. The importance of music was instilled in her at an early age. Every milestone, celebration, or simple journey to school was scored with anything from the sultry serenades of Whitney Houston to the invigorating bounce of house music. Aliyah began her formal training at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artist and most recently graduated from the Jazz Studies program at DePaul University. Her focus is now centered around The Indigo Sessions, a space for those marginalized to tell their stories and share their creations. @indigoesblues
Based in Chicago IL, Iyana Brown-Bey is an admired vocalist and songwriter who produces a unique musical experience intended to nourish, nurture and heal the spirit. With influences from the genres of R&B, Gospel, Jazz and Classical, her neo-soulful voice compels her listeners and amplifies the present moment of reflection and self-discovery. Iyana currently fronts a rising eclectic, neo-soul band called SolDial which has released their debut EP this past May. 2024. Alongside SolDial, Iyana has performed in numerous Chicago venues and has been leading a quartet for more intimate performances since 2022. Through her music, she aims to inspire embracing emotions and recognizing one's self-worth. @iyana.brownbey
Meghan B. Malachi is a poet from the South Bronx. She is the first-place winner of the Spoon River Poetry Review 2022 Editor's Prize Contest and a 2022 Pushcart Prize Nominee. She is an Associate Editor at RHINO magazine. Her work is published or forthcoming in Milly Magazine, Rabid Oak, NECTAR Poetry, Pages Penned in Pandemic, giallo lit, and Writers With Attitude. Her first chapbook, The Autodidact, was published by Ethel Zine and Micro Press. She lives in Chicago, Illinois. @meghanbmal
