About this Event
Founding member of Native American a cappella group, Ulali - Pure Fé (Tuscarora/Taino) headlines our last event. Pure Fé blends her Southern Indigenous influences with her ancestral African soul-filled lineage and continues to reshape performance as ceremony. Native blues virtuoso, Wade Fernandez, (Menominee) lives music and breathes life into under resourced communities with his story telling through songs, and engages audiences of all generations. Opening the evening is Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) graduate, Simona Rael (Latina), who will grace us with her original compositions with family band, and an ensemble of IAIA students modeling her line of fashion designs.
BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) and plan on participating in a variety of workshops for all that will include, WiseFool, hands-on puppet making, traditional drumming, face-painting, and a collage workshop. We also have Indigenous inspired food trucks, artists, and advocacy booths.
Event is free and family friendly.
