Hosted by NPAAMB Indigenous Youth Employment and Training in Partnership with the Ken Seiling Museum and Region of Waterloo.
Join us for an evening of Indigenous music, creativity, and community at the Open Mic Night & Electric Pow Wow! Doors open at 6:30PM at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, with the event running until 10:00PM. The evening will begin with a youth-led open mic featuring live music, poetry, storytelling, comedy, and spoken word performances, followed by a high-energy Electric Pow Wow with DJ Boogey The Beat. Community members are encouraged to bring their own regalia, refillable water bottles, and lawn chairs for outdoor seating. The event will take place outdoors unless there is inclement weather. Food trucks will be onsite with late-night snacks available, and Indigenous artisan vendors will be open until 9:00PM. This celebration is open to the Indigenous community and welcomes all ages to come together for a night of connection, dancing, and Indigenous excellence in both traditional and contemporary forms.
