About this Event
Indie Lit Fair
This is a free event, but registration is required.
Join us for the tenth annual Indie Lit Fair, co-presented by the PEN World Voices Festival and the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP). This year, the Indie Lit Fair will take place on Washington Square South, between Sullivan Street and Thompson Street. Free and open to the public, the Indie Lit Fair celebrates the vitality and diversity of independent literary publishing, showcasing new and established poetry presses, fiction and creative nonfiction publishers, and innovative literary magazines. Stop by to browse, buy, and bask in the breadth of the literary arts being published today.
The Unbannable Library—an interactive installation celebrating the freedom to read—will also take place in Washington Square Park alongside the Indie Lit Fair.
The 2026 PEN World Voices Festival is a celebration of world literature and free expression. The 2026 edition will be the 21st World Voices Festival. Over four days, over 120 writers from over 40 countries will be featured in 40+ engaging talks, panels, readings, and activations in New York City and greater Los Angeles.
