About this Event
Inclusive Spaces: Urban Sketching Workshop
Discover how thoughtful design can create places where everyone feels welcome. With just pencil and paper, urban sketching becomes a powerful tool for observing how people interact with the built environment—and how design choices shape those experiences.
Inclusive Spaces is a collaboration between the Urban Design Center (UDC) and the Queer Design Collaborative (QDC), a committee within the Charlotte Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Join us for an evening of drawing, community, and conversation. We’ll begin at the UDC before heading out in small, instructor-led groups to nearby South End locations selected by local creatives. Each site will serve as a space for reflection, conversation, and a focused, 45‑minute sketching session. Afterward, we’ll reconvene to share artwork and insights.
Refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own sketching materials; a limited supply will be available.
All skill levels are welcome.
