In the SunPatrycja Mastej's paintings from the series In the Sun are a gesture of turning toward light—toward that which warms and imbues with power. Yellow, which occurs the artist's latest works, is not just a color. It is an emanation of energy, a raw, life-giving force that allows one to exist without excuses, to take up space without fear.As art critic Anna Markowska writes about Mastej's work: "The dramatic division once strongly felt in her work has now transformed into harmony and the luminous serenity that sometimes follows a storm. The intention to bring light and tenderness into one's own interior, into one's own organs, resulted in the radiation of energy outward." At the root of these paintings lies the practice of butoh dance – a meditation in movement in which the body becomes a medium for energies transcending the control of the ego. Butoh allows the artist to enter a space where form emerges on its own, where "multi-element landscapes appear rather than are constructed; they surprise the artist herself rather than submit to her conscious intentions."The artist creates without references; she works through matter and form: her painting flows from the body like energy yearning to spill out, warm, and fill itself. The sun is not an external object here, but something that radiates, expands, and desires within her.In the Sun is an exhibition about turning the spirit toward wholeness. About opening to what is bright, rich, and vital. About the courage to embrace within oneself – that part of oneself that does not hesitate, does not retreat, does not apologize for its existence.

Najnowsza wystawa Patrycji Mastej "W słońcu" jest gestem odwrócenia się ku światłu – ku temu, co ogrzewa, nasyca mocą. Żółć, która występuje w najnowszych pracach artystki, nie jest tu tylko kolorem. Jest emanacją energii, surowej, życiodajnej siły, która pozwala istnieć bez usprawiedliwień, zajmować miejsce bez lęku. Jak pisze o twórczości Mastej Anna Markowska: „Niegdysiejsze mocno wyczuwalne w jej twórczości dramatyczne rozdarcie zmieniło się dziś w harmonię i świetlistą pogodę, jaka czasem następuje po burzy. Intencja wprowadzenia światła i czułości do własnego wnętrza, do własnych organów zaowocowała wypromieniowaniem energii na zewnątrz." U źródła tych obrazów leży praktyka tańca butoh – medytacja w ruchu, w której ciało staje się medium dla energii wykraczających poza kontrolę ego. Butoh pozwala artystce wejść w przestrzeń, gdzie forma wyłania się sama, gdzie „wieloelementowe krajobrazy bardziej zjawiają się, niż są konstruowane; raczej zaskakują samą autorkę, niż poddają się jej świadomym intencjom."Artystka, tworząc nie operuje odniesieniami, działa przez materię i formę: jej malarstwo wypływa z ciała niczym energia, która pragnie się rozlać, ogrzać, napełnić. Słońce – nie jest tu obiektem zewnętrznym, ale tym, co w niej samej promieniuje, rozpiera się, chce.W słońcu to wystawa o zwróceniu ducha w stronę pełni. O otwarciu na to, co jasne, bogate, witalne. O odwadze, by przyjąć w sobie– tę część, która nie waha się, nie cofa, nie przeprasza za swoje istnienie.

🌞 Patrycja Mastej / Assistant Professor at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Active in the fields of contemporary art and design, she regularly curates solo exhibitions and creates plush objects, drawings, paintings, and installations in which she explores processes related to memory and body awareness, utilizing the creative method of Butoh dancers. She also creates large-format interactive panoramas with sets of moving, magnetic images. She is the initiator of the "Self-Service Museum" interactive exhibition series at the Wrocław Museum of Contemporary Art and, together with Magdalena Skowrońska, the "Light Spectrum. Exposure to Color" space.

🌞 Patrycja Mastej / Adiunktka w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych im. Eugeniusza Gepperta we Wrocławiu. Działa aktywnie na polu sztuki współczesnej i designu. Realizuje cyklicznie wystawy indywidualne, tworzy pluszowe obiekty, rysunki, obrazy, instalacje, w których bada procesy związane z pamięcią i świadomością ciała, wykorzystując metodę twórczą tancerzy Butoh. Równolegle kreuje wielkoformatowe interaktywne panoramy wraz z zestawami ruchomych, magnetycznych obrazów. Jest inicjatorką cyklu wystaw interaktywnych „Samoobsługowe Muzeum” w MWW oraz wspólnie z Magdaleną Skowrońską przestrzeni „Spektrum światła. Ekspozycja na Kolor”.
