ACCESSIBILITY
As a survivor and supporter, Rulan especially welcomes those with Cancer, Chronic illness, Covid, including all Caretakers. Movements can be modified to even lying down and listening. Imagining is a powerful ‘movement’!
Rulan was introduced to WEAD last year and provided an embodied Art+ lecture last winter. She has this special message for WEAD members:
I respect the WEAD circle so much. It's inspiring to read artist bios on the WEAD website, and to imagine what it would be like to be in a circle with all or any of them! It means a lot to me to have a live opportunity to meet any of these amazing visionary women that are part of the Women EcoArtists Dialog, to facilitate an eco-somatic experience of practice altogether, to bring together inner dreamscape and outer landscape through simple movements , to embody diversity and solidarity as well as empathetic relationship for all forms of life, at this time when so much is in crisis.
Reflections from WEAD members who experienced Rulan's embodied lecture:
"It’s really rejuvenating, and I appreciate how you discussed the body as a microcosm with various interconnected parts. I’ve always seen the female body as a contested terrain where one explores and reclaims one’s subjectivity."
"I really enjoyed thinking about the way the ecosystem can be represented in movement."
