The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) will be hosting South Africa’s former Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr Naledi Pandor. The event will feature Dr Pandor in conversation with ICJP Director Tayab Ali, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience. The event will take place at One Birdcage Walk, in the heart of Westminster.
Naledi Pandor is a South African politician, educator and academic who served as the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation from 2019 to 2024. She served in various roles in the National Cabinet since 2004 and was first elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the African National Congress (ANC) in 1994.
Pandor will speak about her time as Minister of International Relations. During her tenure, South Arica brought its genocide case before the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s conduct in Gaza. As Foreign Minister, she also called on the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
She will discuss her experiences with Tayab Ali, Director of ICJP and a partner and Head of International Law at Bindmans LLP. He is also rated as a Super Lawyer by Thompson Reuters and recognised in the field of Civil Liberties by The Legal 500.
ICJP is an independent organisation of lawyers, politicians and academics who support the rights of Palestinians and aim to protect their rights through the law.
