About this Event

How can low-resource interventions, arts and community-based methodologies can improve the quality of life of people living with psychosis? The Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry and People's Palace Projects at Queen Mary University of London invites you to hear from research teams working on the ground in India and Pakistan on the pathways for building community resilience, improving dialogue between healthcare systems and service users, and implementing innovative methods for tackling severe mental illness in lower-and-middle income countries.

Join us as we share participative and clinical results from the , a 4-year programme funded by the NIHR that focused on developing community-based strategies, including the arts, to address severe mental illnesses in India (led by the Schizophrenia Research Foundation - SCARF) and Pakistan (Led by Interactive Research & Development - IRD).

At QMUL, the research is led by Professor Victoria Bird, Director of the Unit for Social And Community Psychiatry (Wolfson Institute of Population Health) and Co-Investigator Paul Heritage (People's Palace Projects).

Entrance is free (booking required), and refreshments and snacks will be provided after the session.

Date: 29/10/2024 (Tuesday)

Time: 4.30pm to 6.30pm - followed by refreshments and snacks provided after the lecture
