About this Event
Making quilt blocks does not have to be precision sewing!
Open up to improvisational quilt block sewing, and free yourself from the rules of traditional quilting. Working with a historic Log Cabin quilt block as the structure, join us to learn how to sew a wonky version. Make it as crazy or as minimal as you want! Choose from provided quilt weight fabrics, or bring your own to mix into your blocks.
Open to beginners and beyond: as long as you can sew a straight-ish stitch, you can do it! In class we will discuss what you can turn your blocks into, but please note we will not be making an actual quilt in class.
Machines will be provided but if you have your own, please bring it! If you are bringing your machine, let us know at [email protected]
We have a sliding scale for tickets for this event! The break down is as follows:
General Admission #1: Covers the cost of workshop and materials

General Admission #3: Covers cost of workshop, materials, supports the instructor, and helps keep our workshops more accessible
About Christine
Christine Haynes is a sewing author, teacher, and pattern designer. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After college, Christine moved to Los Angeles, CA and sold ready-to-wear garments for many years. When Random House approached Christine to write her first book in 2006, she left ready-to-wear, and turned her focus to teaching others to experience the joy of making clothing for themselves, through her patterns, books, and workshops.
