About the talk: In conjunction with the Legion of Honor's Manet & Morisot exhibition, this talk will introduce how ceramics were integral to the formation, experimentation, and realization of the Impressionist movement. The painters include Renoir, Pissarro, Degas, Cassatt, Marie and Félix Bracquemond, and at a later stage Gauguin and Toulouse-Lautrec. The talk will also address their relationships with ceramic artists, including Ernest Chaplet, Émile Müller, and Edmond Lachenal

February lecture Impressionists in Clay, given by Brittany Severt, Ann Stone Curator of Decorative Arts, Baltimore Museum of Art. This lecture will be both live at the Gunn Theater and also virtual via Zoom.
