Art+Object invites consignments for its second auction of ‘Important Paintings and Contemporary Art’ to be held on August 13. The auction takes place in the aftermath of its recent sale week in late March which featured the landmark sale of six paintings by Charles Goldie from the collection of Neil Graham, alongside its first auction for 2024 of ‘Important Paintings and Contemporary Art’. The two auctions together realised more than eight million dollars and resulted in many record and outstanding prices for artists including: Gretchen Albrecht, Bill Hammond, Tony Fomison, Gregor Kregar, Lisa Reihana, Grace Wright, Andy Warhol, Ann Robinson, Milan Mrkusich, Ralph Hotere, Paul Dibble, Peter Robinson, Laurence Aberhart, Chris Charteris, Guy Ngan and many more. Despite a contracting economy, Art+Object continues to deliver excellent results and to defy popular sentiment in regard to discretionary spending. The market for fine and well-provenanced, culturally significant art from Aotearoa remains incredibly robust.
This auction will be conducted live in our Newton saleroom with online bidding available via our online bidding platform or app available on App Store or Google Play.
