About this Event
Immigration shaped the Dominican Republic
According to Pew, Dominican Republic residents are on track to be Philadelphia's largest immigrant group. On October 2nd, from 6 pm to 7 pm, we, Dominicanos Delaware Valley, will welcome Jonathan de Oleo Ramos, an expert in cultural anthropology, to help us understand this growing community.
The event "Inmigracion Shaped the Dominican Republic" explores and discusses how migration formed the vibrant culture of Dominicans. We will discuss immigration to the Dominican Republic and how that has shaped our food, music, language, and more.
