He may have been surprised to learn that in Medieval France, the people of Lyon not only believed dogs could go to heaven but elevated one to sainthood. Librarian and printmaker Todd White tells the story of the rise of the folk saint Guinefort and his fall at the hands of the Inquisition, and documents the thought process and the hand process of creating a limited edition linoleum print to honor the “holy greyhound” of legend.
