In celebration of its longstanding commitment to welcoming and supporting immigrant communities across New England, the International Institute of New England (IINE) proudly presents the 44th Golden Door Award Gala, an annual event recognizing the profound contributions immigrants make to American society and highlighting our region’s shared commitment to belonging and opportunity.
For more than 50 years, IINE has presented the Golden Door Award to an individual born outside of the United States who has made outstanding contributions to American society. This year’s gala will bring together community leaders, supporters, and past honorees to celebrate the achievements of immigrant leaders across sectors and highlight the essential role immigrant communities play in strengthening Boston and the nation.
Highlights of the evening will include:
- Remarks from IINE leadership on the impact of immigrant contributions throughout New England
- A musical performance by the Back Bay Chorale’s ESOL Chorus
- A Suitcase Stories® performance by an IINE client
- The Centennial Walk, an art exhibition chronicling IINE’s 100‑year history in Boston and the city’s immigrant roots
- Opportunities for media to capture B‑roll and interview IINE leadership and featured speakers
Proceeds from the Golden Door Award Gala will directly support IINE’s programs, ensuring that immigrants and refugees across our region have access to the resettlement, education, employment, and citizenship services needed to rebuild their lives and thrive
