About this Event
It's Hardback Out Here are honoured to present the paperback launch of Michael Pederson's Muckle Flugga!
Join us in conversation with the incredible Ediburgh Markar (Poet Laureate) Michael Pederson to exclusively celebrate the paperback launch of his debut novel, Muckle Flugga, in London. Raved about by Ocean Vuong, Bernadine Evaristo and Matt Haig to name a few - we can't wait to bring Michael's literary magic to our community. Stephen Fry interviewed Michael and loved the novel as much as we do - so no pressure for us...
As if the evening couldn't get any better, we will also be joined by formiddable poet extraordinaire and Ted Hughes Award-winning Hollie McNish for some readings.
We are huge fans of both Michael and Hollie and are so excited to host a truly special evening that is not to be missed! Your ticket includes entry to the event as well as an exclusive, bespoke gift.
About the book:
Muckle Flugga tells the tale of life on a remote island being turned upside down by a stranger’s arrival, testing bonds of family and tradition and leaving a young dreamer’s future hanging in the balance.
About Michael Pederson:
Michael is a prize-winning Scottish poet and author. He is the current Edinburgh Makar (Poet Laureate) and a former Writer in Residence at The University of Edinburgh. He's published three collections of poetry including The Cat Prince & Other Poems and his prose debut Boy Friends is one of our favourite reads. We're obsessed with him - and you should be too!
About Hollie Mcnish:
Hollie is a poet and author based between Scotland and England. She was the first poet to record at Abbey Road Studios and wno the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry for her poetic parenting memoir Nobody Told Me. Her poetry and work always captures the zeitgeist for everything that's going on in the world - so if you ever want a big old hug in the form of poetry, we strongly recommend heading over to her Insta.
