Whether you're looking to boost your skills or just network with fellow pros, this event is the place to be. Don't miss out on hands-on sessions and cool insights in a relaxed, friendly setting.

On Wednesday, we have two FREE workshops beginning at 2:15PM on working with local universities and colleges to partner with the engineering departments to solve some of your design and development challenges as well as working with engineering consultants.

On Thursday we have a one-hour workshop on Engineering Ethics - a critical issue these days! This topic is not only timely but is required training by NC (and other) states as part of a professional engineer's mandatory continuing education. For this reason, we have arranged for attendees to receive a certificate of 1.0 PDH from the IEEE. this workshop is one hour and goes from 2:15-3:15PM. There is a nominal charge for this workshop to cover the cost of certification: $50 or $25 if you are an IEEE member.

Be sure to go to the TICKETS section below to register for these workshops. Registration is required even for the free workshops to reserve your space.

A Company Guide to Partnering with Universities and Colleges (Wed/Free)
Host: Dr James Conrad

Info: Collaborating with a university or college could offer companies many benefits, including access to interns, subject matter experts, and modern lab facilities. Finding the right people in the university structure is key to this success. In this session, we will present the resources that are available to companies, and provide guidelines for navigating a typical university structure. Topics include:
• Working with a university’s Career Center for interns and new hire employees
• Contracting university faculty and lab resources
• Getting “back-burner” project help by sponsoring Senior Capstone Projects
• Resolving Intellectual Property and trade secret concerns
• Giving back: serving as a guest speaker, panelist, or instructor

đź•‘: 03:00 PM - 03:45 PM
When and How to Hire an Engineering Consultant (Wed/Free)
Host: Charles J Lord, PE

Info: Struggling to move projects forward, solve tough technical challenges, or scale efficiently? It might be time to bring in an expert.
Join us for a fast-paced talk on why hiring an engineering consultant can be one of the smartest decisions your company makes. Discover how consultants deliver specialized expertise on demand, accelerate timelines, reduce costly mistakes, and provide an objective perspective your internal team may be missing. A consultant can also provide expertise needed in legal or regulatory matters, particularly when you need an independent authority.
Whether you're launching a new product, optimizing systems, or navigating complex technical decisions—this session will show you how the right consultant can turn uncertainty into momentum.
Don’t guess. Engineer success.
