AI and Data science is an emerging discipline that will be instrumental in accelerating healthcare innovation and transforming the healthcare industry to improve the quality and cost of services provided to patients. Data science, broadly defined, includes the tools, techniques and theoretical underpinnings for enabling machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to be applied to large, diverse, complex, longitudinal, and distributed datasets in order to extract useful information and knowledge. Machine learning and AI have already led to significant successes in many health-related fields including medical image classification, segmentation, prediction and decision making. The field of data science promises to accelerate the applications and successes, specifically by enabling the scaling to “big” and heterogenous data.

To address the research and translational advances and challenges in healthcare focused data science, the IEEE EMBS-HealthTEC.SG-NUS iHealthtech Forum on AI in Healthcare and MedTech will be held on April 3-4, 2025, in Singapore, Singapore.

The forum aims to highlight and discuss the challenges and opportunities of AI innovations in healthcare, medicine and biology, and how these innovations can be translated into cutting-edge healthcare.

The forum will host 16 plenary and keynote speakers and poster presentations as well as a medtech pitching session.

The forum will focus on several challenges, including:
1. AI in Clinical Applications
2. AI in Cardiovascular Disease
3. AI in Brain Applications
4. AI in Oncology

We believe that the Forum will provide a unique platform for scientists, engineers, and students to focus on AI in healthcare innovations.

Relevant points (e.g. PDU, CME, CPE) are subject to approvals by the relevant Professional Bodies (e.g. Professional Engineers Board Singapore (PEB), Singapore Medical Council, Singapore Dental Council, Singapore Ph*rm*cy Council, Singapore Nursing Board).

In addition, there will also be a student poster competition during the conference.

This student abstract competition serves as a platform for aspiring students to showcase their innovations in this field of engineering in Medicine and Biology.
Eligibility:
- All Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Competition Details:
All valid submissions will be reviewed by a judging committee based on: Feasibility; Originality; and Impact on unmet needs.
Shortlisted entries will be invited to give a short presentation during the forum. All presenters will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Submission Procedure:
- Each poster can be submitted by individuals or in teams.
- Filename format: "AI2025_POSTERTITLE_YOURNAME.pdf"
Abstract Format:
- Limited to one (1) page pdf in 2-column format- Poster Size: A1 Size, Portrait Orientation
- Font: Times New Roman (Minimum Size 10)
- Include these 3 sections:
1. Background: the context and purpose of the study
2. Description: the main findings
3. Conclusions: brief summary and potential implications
- Abstract may include figures or tables where necessary, as long as the page limit is not exceeded
