Join CENTRO for the opening night of Ida y Vuelta: Experiencias de la migración en el arte puertorriqueño contemporáneo at the Hunter College East Harlem Gallery on March 30th. The exhibit, whose name translates to Arrivals and Departures: Migration Experiences in Contemporary Puerto Rican Art, is curated by Laura Bravo and features 19 Puerto Rican artists whose works respond to the experience of many Puerto Ricans living abroad. Migration has been a determining issue in Puerto Rico´s recent history, especially since 2012, due to significant crises and natural disasters. The exhibit first opened in February 2017 at the History, Anthropology and Art Museum, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus nad has since traveled across the country before landing in Harlem.
This exhibition is on view from March 30th, 2023 to September 30th, 2023 and is part of the CENTRO 50th Anniversary Celebration! Join us all of 2023 in celebrating 50 years of CENTRO's work to strengthen, diversify, and reimagine the field of Puerto Rican Studies!
RECORDING/ VIDEO NOTICE
I hereby authorize The Center for Puerto Rican Studies, Hunter College (CUNY) and those acting pursuant to its authority (collectively, “CENTRO”) to:
Use, modify, reproduce, public, exhibit and/or distribute any and all such photographs or recordings, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium now known or hereafter developed (including without limitation, the classroom, print publications, webcasts, podcasts, television, and websites), an unlimited number of times in perpetuity throughout the world, for any purpose that CENTRO may deem appropriate, including without limitation educational, promotional and commercial uses; and
Use or license others to use my name, image and biographical material in connection with any such recordings, photographic or uses, but not as endorsement of any product or service.
I hereby waive the right to inspect or approve any such materials and uses. I understand that CENTRO will be the owner of all rights in and to such materials and uses, subject to the restrictions described in this consent and release, and retains the right to use the materials for any purposes.
I hereby release and hold harmless CENTRO from liability for all claims that may arise by me or others in connection to claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or infringement of moral rights, rights of publicity, copyright, or any other legal matters with regards to CENTRO’s activities as authorized by this consent and release.
