Experience the captivating and soul-stirring sounds of the cello with internationally renowned cellist, composer, and multilingual vocalist Ian Maksin, who sings currently in 37 languages. Maksin's performances traverse the Sahara deserts and Mongolian steppes, the mountain ranges of the Balkans and the Caucasus, and the coastlines of the Pacific Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. He masterfully blends a wide array of world music traditions into a cohesive fusion, with his cello acting as the central thread. Employing a loop pedal and other electronics, he expands the cello’s sound to resemble a full string orchestra, offering a truly unique auditory experience. Ian Maksin's extensive repertoire includes over 250 songs in 37 languages, ranging from French to Farsi and from Ukrainian to Turkish, featuring both traditional tunes and his original compositions. His innovative style merges diverse musical genres, transforming his cello into a unifying force that harmonizes global musical heritage. His albums, inspired by his international travels and collaborations, showcase his pioneering approach to music and composition.
