Bel, 19, has not revealed to Jasper, 22, that she has never slept with anyone before, or that she has endometriosis. He 'finds out' shortly after they have slept together for the first time. The film explores how pain has shaped Bel's relationship to her body, and whether young women can ever have total ownership over their sexuality.

'I Knew Her Before She Was A Virgin is my first short film. I wanted to make something that made other young women feel seen, and to voice the complexity, knottiness and pain that comes with being a teenage girl, and the shame associated with endometriosis'. - Eva Hudson, writer and director.
