Once the cabaret has… come to a finish, our team of sexy librarians will open the secret library playroom, where guests may exchange more than just books… 😈

What is the Hysterical Readings Party? The Hysterical Readings Party is a special evening of cabaret, playful performance, and social exploration, set in a beautifully curated library environment. The evening features our signature Hysterical Cabaret — where a select group of willing readers attempt to maintain their composure under considerable distraction — followed by the opening of our secret library lounge for guests to mingle and explore at their own pace.

Do I have to participate in anything? Absolutely not. You will never be required to do anything you haven't signed up for in advance. The Hysterical Cabaret performers have all volunteered and registered for their roles beforehand. Everything at our events is an invitation — you are welcome to engage as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

How is this different from other adults-only social events? The Hysterical Readings Party is designed to be intimate, playful, and warmly hosted. The cabaret element gives the evening a unique structure and a lot of laughter before the social exploration begins. We keep our guest numbers intentionally small to maintain a comfortable, connected atmosphere.

Who comes to these events? Our guests come from all walks of life and share one thing in common: an open mind and a curiosity to explore in a safe, beautifully held space. We warmly welcome guests of all orientations and backgrounds.

Do I need to come with a partner? We ask that guests attend in pairs in order to maintain a balanced and comfortable atmosphere. If you are attending as a group of more than two, each individual must register separately. If you are solo, please do get in touch.

Is there an age requirement? All guests must be 18 or over. Our guests typically range from their 20s to 40s, but all adults are welcome.

Can I see the guest list? No. We will never share names, photos, contact details, or any information about our guests. Absolute discretion and confidentiality is a cornerstone of everything we do.

Can you connect me with other guests in advance? We don't operate as a matching or introduction service. We simply hold the space for a wonderful evening — connections happen naturally on the night.

What is your boundaries policy? Mutual respect and clear boundaries are at the heart of everything we do. All guests are required to read and agree to our guidelines upon registration. At the start of the evening, our hosts will guide everyone through our etiquette principles so that all guests feel safe and supported throughout.

Our core principles are:

• No is a complete sentence and requires no justification or explanation.
• Yes means yes in that moment — not always or forever.
• Maybe opens space for gentle conversation and exploring alternatives.

Our hosts are present throughout the evening to support you at all times.

Are there any wellbeing guidelines for attending? Out of respect and consideration for all guests, we kindly ask that you:

• Arrive having freshly prepared for an evening out
• Do not attend if you have any open cuts or wounds
• Let the hosts know in advance if you have any medical conditions they should be aware of

What if I am feeling unwell on the night? If you are experiencing any contagious illness — including cold, flu, or any active infection — we ask that you do not attend, out of consideration for all guests. There is absolutely no judgement in this, and we appreciate your thoughtfulness. Please note that tickets are non-refundable in these circumstances.

My partner and I are curious but a little nervous. Is that okay? Completely! Many of our guests arrive with a mix of excitement and nerves and leave having had a wonderful time. We recommend arriving with an open conversation already had with your partner about what you're both comfortable with. How do I get involved in the Hysterical Cabaret? If you'd like to feature as a reader in our Hysterical Cabaret, write to our Head Librarian at [email protected]. Cabaret participants receive 50% off their ticket in exchange for their glorious bravery on stage.

Are tickets refundable? Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you have any concerns ahead of the event, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to assist.
