About this Event

Join us for Humanities Works featuring Penn faculty from the School of Arts and Sciences presenting lightning talks on their current research. This is an opportunity for humanists to share the ideas and questions that drive their work, featuring Abdulhamit Arvas, Assistant Professor of English; Ericka Beckman, Associate Professor of Romance Languages; Vaughn Booker, George E. Doty, Jr. & Lee Spelman Doty Presidential Associate Professor of Africana Studies; and Shira Brisman, Associate Professor of History of Art. The presentations will be followed by a reception and the option to tour the Arthur Ross Gallery’s current exhibition, Collecting the New Irascibles: Art in the 1980s, with curator Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, Inaugural Faculty Director of the gallery and the James and Nan Wagner Farquhar Professor of History of Art.
